Wasta, the use of connections for personal gain is a widespread phenomenon that affects all aspects of our lives
We often hear this word in our everyday Arabic speech but on the other hand we rarely hear it in English to the extent that most English Language graduates do not know what the English equivalent for the Arabic word Wasta is .To
them and may be to most of the readers here , this word could be new. This may be due to the fact that the American and the British do not believe in Wasta and in their societies your position
or post should be based on your merits and
no preference or favourtism is shown to relatives who may not deserve it
The words clout or cronyism may mean that but they are not as precise as the word in the audio file
To know what this word is & how it was originatd , just listen to the attachment
I hope you like the topic
My Regards.

nepotism
Spread in our time and it is a bad habit, actually it is one of the types of injustice, when one comes " he doesn't deserve the position " and take your place while you are working on your self and develope it to feel that you are " deserve " this position .

There is an old story says that

Do you know why called nepotism " zucchini " ?
In vegetable markets
The merchants and farmers out in the early morning booking a place to sell vegetables

They were waiting in a long queue until the collection of fees and they are allowed to enter
And sometimes the weather is very hot
But not taken one exception from the queue
But traders zucchini because they spoil quickly and intolerable heat

And when he leaves a row and enters without waiting
And people start to protest
Trader raises his hand and says " zucchini "

All cordiality and respect to you my teacher .
