Last night , I got an idea about a game

It's like enigma's game which is about idoms

But mine is about a grammar

To remind them again and again

not to test or exam

You have this question with answers

Then you choose the right one

I suppose you'll like it

And I hope that too

OK

first one is >>>>>>>

If I _____ a house on fire, I'd call the fire station.

see

saw

seen

would see

Really its a good idea for all to remember the grammar

If I saw a house on fire, I'd call the fire station.

Englishlover,

Thank you for your great efforts. It's a very brilliant idea you have come up with. Actually, the best way to master any grammatical rules is through exercising. The way you've suggested is wounderful because it makes us remember the grammatical rules of forming correct sentences. We all need someone to remind us of the things we've learnd. .

My friend, why not have a section for grammar lessons in this forum ???? Think of it ! I'll be a good participant.

See ya

Because both verbs are in the continuous form , i.e. both subjects were doing something at the same time.

Aseel
24-08-2006, 01:51 AM
Hi again

Regarding the sentence of while, I think both ways are correct grammatically

because we can use the past tense when using while+past continuous in a sentence.

Which one fits more, it depends on the context or what the speaker is trying to say

Thanks alot for your big efforts

Best regards

Aseel

as you said both answers are correct

T.Sultan
24-08-2006, 02:08 AM

I think using it in the continuous tense is better because both verbs indicate the continuity of the two actions. This is my own point of view. Thank you , sister.
