Your lifestyle can influence your health. Young Americans today are less healthy
than their parents and grandparents because of their lifestyle. Research shows that
15 to 20 percent of American young people are overweight these days. There are
two main reasons for this. First, junk food and unhealthy fast food are everywhere. A lot of people are working and they have to solve the problem of meals for their families. Fast food is an easy solution! Also , the fast-food industry spends 1,000 times on marketing and advertising in Europe and the U.S. than the total amount spent by all agencies on promoting health in the two regions! Second , computers and television keep children sedentary for longer periods than ever before. And more and more fathers take their children to school by car. This means children don't get the healthy exercise of walking or riding their bicycles
