A Hint

Why not adding a short passage to let them practise reading comprehension
Bearing in mind , the types of comprehension questions they will
find and have to answer in the final exam like
wh questions
yes no questions
true false questions
sentence completion
pronoun reference
etc
Try it next time . I am quite sure your students will benefit from it
