The single most important way to improve your spelling
is to get into the habit of checking words in a dictionary.
You may ask, “ If I can’t spell a word, how can I find it in
the dictionary?” The answer is that you have to guess
what the letters might be. Here are some hints to help you:
أفضل طريقه لتحسين الإملاء هي بأن تتعود على تصحيح الكلمات بإستخدام
قاموس. قد تسأل
" إذا لم أعرف تهجية كلمة, كيف لي أن أجدها بالقاموس؟" الإجابة هي بأنك
عليك أن تخمن الأحرف المكونه للكلمه...هنا بعض التوجيهات لمساعدتك:
Hint 1
If you are not sure about the vowels in a word, you will
have to experiment. Vowels often sound the same, so try
an I in place of an a, an e in place of an I, and so on.
إذا لم تكن متأكد من vowels (الأحرف : a,e,i,o,u) , يجب عليك أن تجرب.
vowels غالبا يتشابهون سمعيا, لذا حاول أن تستبدل حرف مكان , حرف مكان, و هكذا.
Hint 2
Consonants are sometimes doubled in a word. If you can’t
find your word with single constant, try doubling them.
Consonants ( الأحرف من ماعدا أحرف vowels ) أحيانا يكونوا مكررين فالكلمه.
فإذا لم تجد الكلمه التي تبحث عنها بحرف Consonants واحد, حاول أن تكرر ذاك الحرف.
Hint 3
Following are groups of letters or letter combinations that
often sound alike. If your word isn’t spelled with one of the
letters in a pair or group shown below, it might be spelled
with another in the same pair or group. For example, if it is
not spelled with ak, it may be spelled with ac, ch, or ck.
في الأسفل ستجد مجموعه من الأحرف أو مجموعة حروف التي تتشابه سمعيا (لفظيا).
إذا لم تكن تهجية الكلمة التي تبحث عنها فيها واحد من الأحرف, قد تجد الحرف
بالمجموعه الأخرى. إذا كان اللفظ أك..فقد تكون التهجية:

Use an electronic spelling checker
Take advantages of electronic spelling tools. You can
use “Word” from your computer programs, or you can
use “spelling check” tool from your hotmail or yahoo mail.
However, even if you use it, you will still need to proofread
your paper for spelling errors. Spelling programs cannot
correct words that are not in their list. Also, they cannot
differentiate between commonly confused words, such
as affect and effect, their and there, were and where.
يمكنك أن تستعين بمصحح أغلاط إملائيه إلكتروني, مثل "الورد" من
البرامج الخاصه بالكمبيوتر أو بإستخدام خدمة التصحيح بالهوتميل أو الياهو ميل.
لكن حتى لو إستخدمت هذه الخدمه. يجب عليك أن تعاود قراءة موضوعك للتأكد
من خلوه من الأخطاء لأن المصحح الإلكترونيي قد يعجز عن تصحيح بعض
الكلمات الغير مسجله بقاموسه, أو قد تكون الكلمات صحيحه إملائيا لكن تحمل
معنى آخر مثل : كنا = were و أين = where
Keep a personal spelling list
In a special place, write down every word you misspell.
Include its correct spelling, underline the difficult part of
the word, add any hints you can use to remember how to spell it.
If spelling is a particular problem for you, you might
even want to start a spelling notebook that has a
separate page for each letter of the alphabet.
سجل كل كلمة أخطأت بتهجيتها فيي مكان ما (كتاب, دفتر...). أكتب الكلمة
بتهجيتها الصحيحه و ضع خطا تحت الجزء الصعب من الكلمة. يمكنك أن
تضيف أي شيء يساعدك على تذكر التهجيه الصحيحه للكلمة. إذا كانت الإملاء
تشكل مشكلة أساسيه لك, يفضل أن تنشء دفتر للإملاء يحتوي على حرف من الأحرف
الأبجديه الإنجليويه على كل صفحه. و في كل صفحه تدون الأخطاء و تصحيحهم.
Study your list regularly, and refer to it whenever
you write and proofread a paper.
Learn commonly confused words
Many spelling errors result from words that sound alike
or almost alike but that are spelled differently, such as
brake and break, wear and where, or right and write.
I’ll be adding a glossary of commonly confused words later.
You can study it carefully to help you choose the right
word at the right time.
الكثير من الأخطاء الإملائيه تنتج عن كلمات متشابهة لفظيا مثل :
فسحه = brake و كسر= break, يرتدي = wear و أين (مكان) = where ,
صح = right و كتابه = write
