Simile
A form of expression using “like” or “as,” in which one thing is compared to another which it only resembles in one or a small number of ways.

Example: Her hair was like silk.

Metaphor
A figure of speech in which a word or phrase that ordinarily designates one thing is used to designate another, thus making an implicit comparison.

Example: He’s a tiger when he’s angry

Wonderful topic as usual from you >>> Thanks alot . I am really interested in such topics
By the way , those lovely poetic terms used for addressing something/someone by giving them a very pleasant depiction in a unique rhetorical way as a kind of exaggeration which we can use in a case we admire or get interested in somebody or something .For example, Let us catch the time ,it is running!! ((Metaphore)) and Time is as gold (( simile)) Both images describe how important the time is to be well-utilized or used perfectly

Thanks again ,,,An interesting thread indeed
