May peace and blessings be upon you

Well, I'm so fond of grammar.

Why don't we have lessons in GRAMMAR to improve our language?

First, we should all agree that grammatical mistakes are so ugly weather you say them or write them.

Second, we should practise as much as possible.

Third, we should pay attention to grammar when we read because this helps us when we write or speak.

I'd like to start with one of the easiest lessons.

But

Many speakers of English make terrible mistakes concerning this pattern.

It is
"
"
"
Be

am - is - are - was - were

They forget to use BE.

Why?

Because the sentence does not have an action like EAT, GO or PLAY.

Let's start.
"
"
"

What follows BE?

1= An adjective

I am tall.

He is fifteen.

They are friendly.

The room is clean.

You are next.

They were good.

It was red.

2= a noun

You are my friends.

They were doctors.

It is a book.

These are flowers.

I am a teacher.

3= a phrase

It is in the bag.

The books are on that shelf.

His house was next to the mosque.

They were in class.

She was at home.

The babies are in bed.

"
"
"
Let's Have a BREAK
"
"
"
Add what you know

Or

Wait for more.

SEE YOU

Don't forget to pray for our Muslim brothers and sisters in Ghazza

First, your question needs correction

You can say.

When can I use "be"?

You can use past simple:

I played yesterday

OR past continuous

)I was playing yesterday (when the phone rang.

Thanks a lot

Now

Let's complete.

Let's ask questions with BE.
"
"
"
BE in Questions

It's so easy.

Just start with is\ are\ am\ was OR were
If your question is a Yes\No one.

Or
add one of WH words if your question is one of the information questions.

E.g.

Yes\ No questions

Is this your pen?

Are you a student? --- (singular)

Are you students? --- (plural)

Am I late?

Was it on the table?

Were they your cousins?

WH questions

What is your name?

Where are you from?

How much are these books?

Why were you late?

When was the programme?

Where am I?

Remember
"
"
"
If you want to form a question on a given sentence, use "BE" ONLY if the sentence contains "BE"

I hope you enjoy GRAMMAR as much as I do.

The following lesson will be about
linking verbs.

LINKING VERBS Part 1

Hello again

I promised to talk about LINKING VERBS

What is the meaning of LINKING VERBS?

Why are they called LINKING VERBS?

Well,

They are called so because they do not convey any important meanings to the reader or listener.

They just link the subject with the completion.

What are the linking verbs?

"Be" is a linking verb.

You can see that "BE" does not have important meanings in the sentences we have had before.

Those sentences are like the ones we
جمل اسمية (مبتدأ و خبر) call in Arabic

Remember to come again for Part 2

LINKING VERBS Part 2

Let's all recall this.

LINKING VERBS are called so because they do not convey any important meanings to the reader or listener.

They just link the subject with the completion.

More LINKING VERBS

The verbs above can be linking if they do not describe actions

In other words
:
If they only link subjects with their completions.

1- Your dress looks beautiful.
=

-------------------------------------------
2- Tea smells refreshing.

I'm back with more

To everyone

Just come every now and then to have a look

Let's talk about tenses:

Each and every teacher … please, pay attention to one very IMPORTANT thing

Before you teach your students how to use a tense,

teach them when to use it.

I'll start with the simple ones:

PRESENT SIMPLE

WHEN is it used?

It's used to describe habits or facts.

Habits:

I wake up early

Muslims pray five times a day

Facts:

The sun rises in the east

The moon orbits the earth

It rains in winter

Muslims believe in one god

My sister speaks English fluently

Now it's clear how it is used

he\ she\ it\ a singular noun + verb+s

I\ you\ we\ they\ plural noun + verb (inf)

View the examples above

This is for now
