Hi ,

Please, pay attention to what I'm going to write about.

Brother and sisters, I've noticed that some members of this forum and lots of the English language learners tend to make the following grammatical mistakes which are unacceptable even when speaking in an informal way, at least as I think. The kind of mistakes I'm going to write about makes the language of the one who makes them seem broken. So, please follow me and comment on what I'm going to write about.

Some members use "nouns" as " verbs" . For instance , using the noun "advice" instead of the verb " advise". So, there are members who write a sentence like the following: I advice you not to go there. The mistake is using " advice " instead of " advise" . The correct sentence should look like the following : I advise you not to go there.

Some members make the "uncountable nouns" plural by adding "s or es" to the end of the word. For instance , using the uncountable word " advice" in a sentence like the following : I thank you for you your valuable advices. The mistake is making the uncountable word countable. The correct sentence should look like the following : I thank you for your valuable advice or I thank you for this piece of advice.

Some members use the word "nothing" instead of "anything" in negative sentences. For instance, they use the word " nothing" in a sentence like the following: He didn't change nothing. The mistake is using the word "nothing" instead of "anything". The correct sentence should look like the following : He didn't change anything or He changed nothing.

I hope you've benefited by what you've just read. Feel free to comment or ask about anything concerning this post.

Brothers and sisters, I might have made mistakes , so correct me if there's any.

I believe that we are teachers and teachers have to keep an eye out for any possible mistakes. So , be careful not to make such mistakes in the presence of your students. It's not shameful but I think it would be embarrassing if one of your students told you that you made a mistake.

Finally, Thank you very much and rest assured that only the people who love you are those who never stay silent when they notice your mistakes.

Any question or comment , I'm all ready to answer you back.

Bye for now.

Dear Winner,
I do agree with you 100%. A teacher is the one who presents things the right way .
Using slang is a total different issue. A teacher CANNOT use "gonna or wanna" while teaching but he can use that while conversing (if he's after the american slang).
Same is the case with "nothing". A teacher cannot use "nothing" instead of "anything" while teaching but once again, he can feel free to say it when conversing!! Have you ever heard someone saying: I didn't buy nothing.
I didn't say nothing.
Hold your horses dear. True, grammatically speaking both sentences are incorrect, we as teachers shouldn't use such expressions with our students. But, with our colleagues or with native speakers ( who are using it on the first place) I wouldn't feel unconfortable if I did.
Thank you once more for bringing up such important issues & thank you for writing in English.

.Hi, brother Winner4ever
Firstly, I salute you for raising such great
and important issue which most of members
.suffer from or do not pay attention to

Secondly, according to a doctor of mine, he once
.said that even the native speakers make mistakes
.So, there is no one perfect except Allah Almighty

Thirdly, there are so many reasons of making
mistakes. For example, overgeneralization which
,is related to the use of ADVICE. Also, mood
pressure or situation the one being in has something
to do with making mistakes. Moreover, I think that lack
.of knowledge is a great source of making mistakes issue

Fourthly, for your information, honestly, making
.spelling mistakes is a problem I often suffer from
I myself make lots of spelling mistakes when using
the keyboard. Also, when one of my students tells
.me that I made a mistake, I am happy that he does so
So, I do not feel embarrassed at all because I always
salute, thank and encourage my students who corrects
my own mistakes. Also, I do not use slang language in
.the classroom

Fifthly, making mistakes is a matter all teachers
of English language suffer from. Teaching is a
perpetual boring routine killing teachers and
.clipping their wings not to improve their language
Teaching in schools has a negative influence on
.our language being teachers

Day by day, some teachers lose a huge number
of vocabulary. Teachers do not practice English
at schools because students always complain
.about not understanding

Sixthly, anyway, as teachers of English fearing
.to lose our language, we should not surrender
We have to work on to keep our language
wealthy of vocabulary through reading
materials in English. Also, through listening
to speaking English channels, we can
make a step up to improve and maintain
our language. Practicing language through
.speaking is the best way to improve it
Furthermore, to improve your language you
must overcome some of your own obstacles
such as being shy to speak English with
.others and being afraid of making mistakes

;Finally, the moral of my comment is summarized in
,Making mistakes is not a shame"
.but keep making mistakes is so
".Practice makes perfect

Finally, Thank you very much and rest assured that only the people who
love you are those who never stay silent when they notice your mistakes
?You made a writing mistake, didn't you
.Pay attention to the capital letter, ok

,Brother Winner4ever
.thanks a lot for being the caring person you are
Thanks a lot for sharing your notice with us
.in the hope of improving our English language
.I hope to see more from you
.Keep it up

With all sincere respect

Dear investigator ,

Thanks a lot brother for your well-appreciated reply. Your reply has been more than enough . Brother, I'm really appreciative of your kindness.

Brother, to me , I believe that we only learn from our mistakes. Dear, mistakes are made , lessons are learned , that's what I believe in.

As for the mistake I made when I capitalized the letter of one of the sentences I wrote , it's only a typo . I'm not justifying the mistake I made but I don't think it's a huge one. When your writing or speaking is not understandable or intelligible , then you have to hurry up and improve yourself. For example , when someone pluralizes "advice" , he/she will be understood by the listener but his language would sound broken. But , when someone capitalizes a letter when it's supposed to be small , the mistake he committed would be called "typo" and the reader will never have any problem understanding what's been written.

In summary , grammatical mistakes are crucial while writing mistakes are not that important or significant" I mean the kind of mistakes that doesn't change the structure of a correct sentence , the meaning of it or the style" . Capitalization in writing is not as big a mistake as writing or saying the following " eats he in a restaurant" . I hope I could get it across to you. Believe me , I believe that " perfection " is hard to get but it's never hard to get close to it. I'm not a perfectionist but I like the idea of "perfectionism " which generates the desire to be a success.

Last but not least , I really like your writings and replies and I hope we be friends. Please accept my apology if what I wrote didn't appeal to you.

If you've any comment , please never hesitate a moment to tell me about it.

Take care and stay cool

,Dear Winner4ever

First, thanks alot 4 this great post
I'm very thankful to you
for warning us about some of
.the common mistakes we had some times

Second, learning English is intersting but it's
hard and boaring also. It has alot of similar
words, either. So it's hard to watch out our
mistakes especially in the English forums
where everyone can understand what the
.others say

Third, when we speak Arabic some mistakes
.happened. Although it's our original language
.So what do you expect with the foreign language
Finally, I would like to tell every member here
.to correct every mistake which others have

.We all here to learn
.Don't be so shy

:::Accept my full respect:::
