Papermaking

Papermaking has been around for a long time. The ancient Egyptians discovered the use of papyrus as a writing material around the year 5000 BC, from the papyrus plant, which grew in large numbers along the banks in delta of the River Nile

The Chinese in the 2nd century BC had a papermaking process involving a fibrous matter. In the 8th century, Arabs had learned the art of paper making, which explains the rise of their intellect and learning

Did you know that paper is made from trees? Have you ever seen splinters in wood? Look at some wood and then some brown paper towel that your school has. Can you see little splinters or small pieces of material in the paper

First, trees are cut down in the forest and are then sent to a paper mill

At a paper mill, a machine removes bark from wood



Bark is not used to make paper, but it is used for other things

Once the bark is removed from the wood, it is chopped into very small pieces with a chipper

Did you know that they cook wood so that it can be made into paper? The wood chips are cooked in sodium hydroxide and sodium sulfide

The wood chips are cooked until they turn into a soft, slippery pulp or slurry. Now the soft, slippery paper pulp or slurry is poured into a container

The container pours the slurry onto a large screen. This is where the water is drained from the paper. Next, the paper is pressed flat between two rollers

The finished paper is wound into jumbo reels, then split into smaller customer reels. The individual reels are finished with a protective wrapper for transport and storage. Congratulations, you have just learned the basic process of papermaking

الابتسامهـ معديهـ ,, تستطيع التقاطها مثل الأنفلونزا




When someone smiled at me today I started smiling too




عندما ابتسم شخص لي اليوم ,, بدت ابتسم أيضا






I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin




مررت بالزاوية و شخص رأى ابتسامتي




When he smiled I realized I'd passed it on to him




عندنا ابتسم أدركت أنني نقلت الابتسامة إليه






I thought about that smile , and realized its worth




فكرت بالابتسامة و أدركت أنها تستحق




A single smile , just like mine , could travel round the Earth




ابتسامه واحده ، مثل ابتسامتي تستطيع الانتقال حول الكون






So if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected




إذا ,, إذا شعرت بابتسامه لا تحاول إخفائها

مراهقة كانت تتكلم على الهاتف تقريباً لمدة نصف ساعة، ثم أقفلت الخط.


قال الأب: " واااو ، لقد كانت المكالمة قصيرة. من عادتك إن تتكلمي لمدة ساعتين، فماذاحدث؟".



قالت البنت: " كان الرقم خطأ " !!





"?JACK: "Would you punish me for something I didn't do


." TEACHER:" Of course not



."JACK: "Good, because I haven't done my homework
جاك: " هل ستعاقبني على شيء لم أفعله؟ "


الأستاذ: " بالطبع لا "



جاك: " جيد، فأنا لم أفعل الواجب"






.One day a college professor of Psychology was greeting his new college class

. After a minute or so of silence, a young man stood up

في يوم من الأيام كان بروفيسورعلم النفس في الجامعة يرحب بطلابه الجدد.


وقف في وسط الصف وقال: " أيستطيع كل منيظن نفسه أنه غبي بأن يقف الآن رجاءً؟ "


بعد دقيقة من الصمت .. وقف شاب ، ثمقال:" أهلاً سيدي "


قال البروفيسور: " إذاً ..أنت تظن بأنك أخرق؟". فأجابه الشاب: " كلا سيدي. فقط لم أشأ أن أراك واقفاً لوحدك" !!!

." One boy answers, "We found a ten dollar bill and decided to give it to whoever tells the biggest lie

صبيان كانا يتشاجران عندما دخل الأستاذ الصف.
الأستاذ: : " لماذا تتشاجران؟ "
قال أحد منهما: " لقد وجدنا فئة عشرة دولار، وقد قررنا بأن نعطيها لمن يقول أعظم الكذبة".
قال الأستاذ: " يجب أن تشعرا بالخجل من نفسيكما. عندما كنت في مثل سنكم ..لم أكن أعلمما هي الكذبة أصلاً ".
فقام الصبيان وأعطوا العشرة دولار إلى الأستاذ !!

الواقعة في ولاية نيويورك في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية .






وسبب انتشار هذا اللفظ الذي تحول إلى كلمة أن مرشح للرئاسة في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية،


أبن هذه المدينة وأسمه مارتن فان بودين .


هذا الرجل استخدم عبارة " انتخبوا أبن أولد كوداهوك" في حملته الانتخابية


واختصرها إلى انتخبوا ابن ( O.K )




وكان المؤيدين له يهتفونok ok ok ok




حتى صار هذا اللفظ يعني الموافقة والقبول
