The word down can be used as five different parts of speech

which might be the record!

Here is my try

1. mess (verb):
Please Mary, down that mess. = mean stop the mess.

2. even (adjective):
my dog is very down today. = mean he is sad or gloomy mood

3. close (noun):
the plane is getting down.

Or:


6. turn (verb):
Turn down

8. set (verb)
Set down

This is just a random choice , you may find other words

I will take the word right because also it has 5 different uses


right - adj., adv., noun, verb, exclamation

Adjective
You were quite right to criticize him.

Adverb
Lee was standing right behind her.
Or
The wind was right in our faces.

Noun
You did right to tell me about it.
Or
They both had some right on their side

Verb
At last the plane righted itself and flew on.

Exclamation

‘Yeah, right.’

Or

‘Right you are, sir.’
