Friendships require self-disclosure so any friendship has risks, Talking and listening builds friendships. Friendships require equality and loyalty from friends.Friendships as well as all other relationships must have limits. You set limits with your friends because you care for them and your relationship with them, and never mortify their feelings

تتضمن الصداقة التفاهم المعرفة والحترام والحب المتبادل,الى جانب تقديم العون والمسعدة في أوقات الشدة والأزمات.ويقول أرسطو -الفيلسوف اليونناني-"تتكون الصداقة من روح واحدة تسكن في جسدين"فالأصدقء يرحبون بصحبة بعضهم ويظهرون أيضا الولاء لبغضهم البعض.ويتبادلون النصيحة ويتعاونون في الشدة.فهي ليست أكثر من ثقة. بناء الصداقة يأخذ وقتا طويلا ويتطلب بوحا (صراحة )ذاتي ولذا لك صداقة أخطار,فالتحدث والاستماع يبني الصداقة,والصداقة تتطلب المساوة والولاء من الأصدقاء.وللصاقة حدود مثل أي علاقة أخرى فأنت تجعل حدودا للصداقة حتى تهتم بهم وبصداقتهم ولكيلا تجرح مشاعرهم.
