The difference between the way the grammatical and the direct method:smile (48):

The Direct Method uses the mother tongue to teacher grammar of the target language.For example, in English, progressive verb is preceded by verb to be . By using the Direcrt method, the teacher could say " الفعل اام , از و ار يأتي بعدها فعل مضاف له ing .

THe grammatical Way compares betrween the grammar of the mother tongue to that of target.
For example, the teacher exaplains the sentence structure of Englsih via that of Arabic.
