My boss .... quite mad when he learned what I had done
[became- took -went - made - got
The word 'mad' has at least two different meanings. Do you mean angry or do you mean crazy?l
If you mean angry, then you would say he got mad. Mad in this sense is informal, and would use an informal verb like 'got' rather than its synonym 'became
If you mean he acted a little crazy, you would say he went mad. Took and made would not be used with the adjective 'mad
became, went and got are all correct depending on context and formality

A sudden noise behind me made me nearly jumped out of my .......!!I
shoes - nerves - self - skin - clothes
should be jump (bare infinitive after made - don't need the past tense twice)l

As for this remark , I say NOT all the three words are suitable or corrcect . Only one is right
It is a multiple choice question and you have to choose one word .There is no way saying it depends on context or formality .By the way , this sentence is taken form an FCE test .
So, the right choice is went because go mad is a collocation . For mors information visit any comprehensive grammar book ... and look for the heading >>>>>>>> Inchoative verbs

You are right :smile (40): and thanks for reminding me for this spelling mistake . It is known to all that after Let and Make the bare infinitive is used . It is a slip of a pen . I 've corrected
the original sentence . Thanks deeply
