I've searched for you dear & found that this Q is also a problem for native speakers !!!J

But the best & logical answer I found is that :

We say
get in the car OR the bike
But

get on the bus OR the train OR the plane
Because the car is lower than our body
If you get on a car, you are climbing on top of a car's roof

On the other hand the bus is higher than our body so we need to climp on it
