definitions of the pragmatics
:
1-it is a branch of theoretical linguistic that focuses on the non- literal meaning of word , phrases and sentences.
2- it is the study of the speaker's intended meaning .
3- it is the study of the invisible meaning .
4- it is the study of the meaning in the context
Example:
The boy: may I go to play football outside ?
1-you'er already sick today.
2-you have a lot of homework to do .
3-it is raining outside.
-what does the mother mean (imply)?
No, you can't go .

Attendant~ someone whose job is to take care of the public place and deal with customer .
The pragmatic meaning : this is a place where you can park your car .it is a heated area and there is a person to look after your car while you are a way.
Sale Baby and toddler
This is a shop that sells clothes for babies and toddlers .
Context
There are two different types of contexts :
1-co-context (linguistic context):
The set of other words used in the same phrase or sentence .
e.g. bank :1-over grown – steep .
2- withdraw some deposit cash .
3- financial institution.
2-physical context:
the time and the place.
Deixis :
pointing via language.
e.g. Here- there – this – then – yesterday – now – today -You – me – she – him – her
These words do not have meaning by themselves .
1-person deixis (pointing to people )such as : she –her- they
2- spatial diexis (pointing to locations) such as : here- there – near .
3- temporal deixis (pointing to certain time ) such as : now – last week .
4- thing deixis (pointing to things )such as : those – it – these .
You will have to bring it book tomorrow because she isn't here .

Reference : it is an act by which a speaker(or a writer ) uses language to enable a listener( or reader) to identify meaning .
You can use :
Proper noun: Jennifer –Chomsky – ola
Noun phrase: a writer- my friend – the car
Pronouns: he – she – it – they
*arrange of reference: the words Jennifer or she or friend can be used to refer to many entities in the world .
