Aims of Teaching English Language At the Intermediate stage:
To produce,in three years,an individual who is able to speak,read and listen with understanding to simple current English.
-To train the pupils in all four language skills;listening with understanding,speaking,reading and writing in that order.
-To train the pupils to write a connected passage of up to half a page about a simple subject or incident.
-To encourage the pupils to have self confidence to speak English.
-To help the pupils to acquir the habit of reading simple English books or short stories for pleasure.
-To give the pupils who finish their formal education in the third year intermediate enough knowledge of the language to help them in their vocations.-To give pupils who proceed to the secondary stage a sound foundation on which to build their future studies.
-To lay the foundation of knowledge of English so that later they can aquire sufficient grasp of the language to enable them to preach their religion to English language speakers,and to refute the errors of the enemies of islam concerning religion.
دSpecific Aims :
- To help the student to gain in 3 years a reasonable mastery of the four language skills which are:
a-listening with understanding to spoken English.
b-speaking current English correctly with the paper stress and intonation.
c-Reading with understanding English texts that vary in difficulty from adapted and simplified to originals in a bridge form.
d-writing a connected passage of up to full page on a ubject of a descriptive or discursive nature.
-To stress the utilitarian point of view of learning of foreign language as a useful tool for cultural as well as social and economic communication.
-To foster in the student an interest in reading so that later on she may be prepared to .
read much reference books periodicals and pamphlets on her future field of specialization.
The religious Aims
To enable the students to speak English well and to give them the opportunity to preach the principle of islam.
To help the students to gain a reasonable command of English in order to be in a better to defend islam against a dvers.
