I need some water now
I am needing some water now

It could be so clear what I am going to talk about through the above sentences .

Both of them are structurally correct ,however when it comes to compare between them grammatically ,the latter one is grammatically wrong .

In general , verbs are divided into two main groups . They are Action and Non-action verbs .

Action verbs are those which describe the action .But , Non-action verbs are those kinds which describe feelings, mental state,desire and senses

I am not going to talk about the action verbs here because they are so clear ,I will talk in short about the Non-action verbs which seem puzzling

Non-action verbs have some characteristics which represent their non acceptance of some grammatical cases such as using ING in present progressive

Here are some verbs marked as non-action verbs

Five senses

see
hear
feel
smell
taste

Examples

I can see now
I am seeing you now

It smells good
It is smelling good

and so on...........
