What a very sad poem, Hajjaj
It reminds us all about the place that we all must return to at the end of our journey in life. But if you're the one who wrote it, BRAVO! I think it's great.
I'm not really good in writing poetry but I tried doing so. Please read it and tell me what you all think

Don't be fooled
Don't be fooled if he looks so good
Don't be fooled if his speach is so good
He might be hiding the face which is rude
and he could be nothing but a stooge
Flowers, chocolate and calls to swoop you away
True love can't be shown in this way
Don't be fooled by every word he says
Don't let him shape you like a piece of clay
and play with your heart as he may
Say NO to the devil he hides inside
and remember that God is always on your side

Childhood memories I'll say
In our minds always stay
For they're those precious days
Whose memories can never decay
For in those days we are away
From all kinds of blues and greys
And only then in our way
We see joys and happiness stay

Now from my Lord that may
Flowery be the path where we stay

I have outwalked the furthest city light.

I have passed by the watchman on his beat
And dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain.

When far away an interrupted cry
Came over houses from another street,

But not to call me back or say good-bye;

The Dash


The following is a poem by Linda Ellis © 1998.

I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone from the beginning to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth and spoke of the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time that she spent alive on earth...
And now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own; the cars .... the house... the cash.
What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard ... are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left. (You could be at "dash mid-range")

If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real,
And always try to understand the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger, and show appreciation more,
And love the people in our lives like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile...
Remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy's being read with your life's actions to rehash...
Would you be proud of the things they say about how you spend your dash??

I want to share this poem with others, and

urge them never to give up

When all about you is black with gloom,
And all you feel is pending doom.
