القصيـده الاولـى:
Song by John Donne:
Go and catch a falling star,
Get with child a mandrake root,
Tell me where all past years are,
Or who cleft the devil's foot,
Teach me to hear mermaids singing,
Or to keep off envy's stinging,
And find
What wind
Serves to advance an honest mind.
If thou be'st born to strange sights,
Things invisible to see,
Ride ten thousand days and nights,
Till age snow white hairs on thee,
Thou, when thou return'st, wilt tell me,
All strange wonders that befell thee,
And swear,
No where
Lives a woman true and fair.
If thou find'st one, let me know,
Such a pilgrimage were sweet;
Yet do not, I would not go,
Though at next door we might meet,
Though she were true, when you met her,
And last, till you write your letter,
Yet she
Will be
False, ere I come, to two, or three.
والقصــيده الثانيـه:
To Lucasta, going to the Wars by Richard Lovelace
TELL me not, Sweet, I am unkind,
That from the nunnery
Of thy chaste breast and quiet mind
To war and arms I fly
True, a new mistress now I chase,
The first foe in the field;
And with a stronger faith embrace
A sword, a horse, a shield.Yet this inconstancy is such
As thou too shalt adore;
I could not love thee, Dear, so much,
Loved I not Honour more.

Song by John Donne
What is John Donne's poem Song about?
John Donne's poem Song is about impossible things in the first nine lines. All those things can't be accomplished. He then talks about how finding a woman so true and pure will also be impossible. When he says "Till you write your letter, yet she will be false" means that by the time you get to write her a letter and send it off she won't be pure and true (meaning virginity).

بالنسبهـ للقصيدهـ الثآنيهـ.. To Lucasta, going to the Wars ..
بحثت وهذا اللي حصّلتهـ ..
This poem is about the love of honour being more powerful than the speakers love for Lucasta. However in the first stanza there is a hint that perhaps she is too pure and that he longs for a bit of excitement.The second stanza shows that he finds the idea of battle thrilling, he refers to war as his new mistress, implying that it has taken Lucasta's place in his thoughts and affections. In the third stanza he asks Lucasta to understand his feelings, because if he were to betray his sense of honour it would also be a betrayal of her. The form is a regular 4 line 3 stanza poem of alternating iambic tetrameter/trimeter. This gives the poem a lively rhythm and the mood of the poem overall is idealistic. There appears to be no regret on the speakers part that he is
leaving his love, indeed he seems to relish the idea of warfare
