Homeless Old Woman

Homeless old woman

Tattered and torn,

Weathered and worn.

She lives in the street,

No shoes on her feet.


They call her “Old Hag”,

Her clothes, but a rag.

Children throw stones,

Never leave her alone.


But somehow she thrives,

Lest her will to survive.

Despite her poor health,

And absence of wealth.



She sleeps where she’s able,

Park benches and tables.

Eats food from trashcans,

Her commode, a bedpan.



Seeks shelter from rain,

Most often in vain.

Finds warmth in the winter,

From restaurant air-venters.



She smiles at the sun,

Gives birds half her crumbs.

Has only three teeth,

To chew what she eats.



Each night she does pray,

That she’ll see a new day.

One last time shuts her eyes,

And then quietly dies.

It's so sad
Sometimes, in order to cheer up,
it's nice to see there are others
who are worse off,
or at least feel the same as you do
thank you

sooooo sad and it is true
in the past, this sad picture will not be seen
in our society
but now, things changed
people are walking with out their hearts
searching for material things only
and some of the elder people are suffering of the way life turn into.
dying alone
is a heart breaking image for every one
it is really touching story
