Little Ali is a real knockout: Lad saves mum in gun raid
A BRAVE schoolboy named Muhammed Ali foiled gunmen who stormed his home.



Masked thugs burst into the house, threatening his terrified mother and demanding gold jewellery.

One yob even started shaking Muhammed’s one-year-old brother Adan Shahyan, before demanding: “Tell us where the gold is.”

But the fearless seven-year-old, who shares his name with the greatest boxer in history, ran towards the raiders and told them to leave his mum alone.

Detectives say he unsettled the seven-strong gang, who fled empty handed moments later.

And police have now honoured Muhammed, from Balsall Heath, Birmingham, with a Chief Constable’s Young Persons Award for bravery.

Chief Insp Phil Radbourne said: “It must have been scary but Muhammed’s first instinct was to run towards the men and to protect his mum.

“His actions were extremely brave and undoubtedly left the burglars stunned.”

The lad’s mother Rifat Akram said: “He saved the family that day. He was so brave.

“He kept saying: ‘Nothing’s going to happen. I’m with you Mummy.’”
