The English newspaper The Daily Mail
estimates that half a million people in the
UK moved house last year because of their
neighbours. The survey also revealed some of the
typical problems we have with our neighbours.
One in ten of those who responded said that noise
from next door had kept them awake all night
at least once. One neighbour played Whitney
Houston’s “I will always love you” at top volume day
after day. And another repeatedly flew a
model airplane into neighbouring gardens .i
A number of complaints involved pets. Neighbours’
dogs and cats doing their business in other
people’s gardens is a big one. Barking dogs and
meowing cats is another
typical complaint, as
are vicious, aggressive
dogs. Rubbish is another
area of conflict. Leaving rubbish outside or near other
people’s properties is something that angers many,
as is leaving your rubbish in the corridor in apartment
blocks. Smelly rubbish is also a cause for concern, with
many complaining about rotting food, or finding
food strewn all over the street because a rubbish bag
wasn’t tied up properly.
One couple in Leeds, England were victims of a yearlong
campaign of intimidation by their neighbour. “She
dumped oil on our lawn, she directed a CCTV camera
onto our front door, she put nails and glass under the
wheels of our car and beamed headlights into our
windows at all hours of the night. The mastermind
behind this? A 57 year-old, retired businesswoman
described by a judge as “an expert in mental torture”.
Sadly, it’s often the victims who are punished by being
forced to move away. It’s still very difficult to take
legal action against inconsiderate neighbours except
in extreme circumstance. However, the situation is
beginning to change. Ex-Labour minister Frank Field
has called for noisy neighbours to be evicted and
housed in steel-container homes on the outskirts of
towns and cities. Sound crazy? Actually he got the idea
from a similar scheme in Holland
.

now where I live there are not any problems with my nieghbors

they are really nice people

but the place where I used to live

the moment they hear any screaming they come and

ask why and what is happening

espicially when we had our cousins at home

you know alot of kids

any way,,,,they really need something to guide them or to teach them how to act, to deal and respect the neighbours.
they need some guidelines about the management of noise, respecting other privacy and many other issues

Well,,,,Our dear lovely neighbours are wonderful,,BUT Idon't like my neighbours screaming kids lol.
I don't know what's wrong with their parents,,they let them scream and scream from time to time and I find it disturbing wallah.

The second problem,,,when they start playing football,,,,,,oh la la,, IT DRIVES ME INSANE.. I wish I could kick that balls in their faces and run fast>>>>NOT REALLY ^^

I really laughed when I read that when your previous neighbours hear the so called alarm siren ( the scream ) , they come
as quickly as possible to check and investigate the situation...lol. Now do not you miss them ..hehe
Now that you are living in a new neighbourhood with new nice neighbours , people who care about others .. , life seems
different , relaxing and more enjoyable .

First and foremost , let me say Thanks A Lot , for your lovely colourful post .I delibrately omitted some of the facts that the report said about the complaints that the British say
about their neighbours . I found them unsuitable to be published here and somewhat
unbelievable...LOL .I think the situation here is much better . As for our lovely neighbours , as you said , they are the spice of
modern life but with a bad taste indeed ..hehe
The main problem is that they let their little angels as they may call them , do whatever
they like ( scream , break , ...) and when they get a complaint , they would say
these are children and it is normal for them to play " and you will be the one to blame
As for your plan to kick that ball and run fast lol I advise you not to do it because
they are faster and they will catch you hehe . Just think of another way that could work and stop that nuisance. I really liked your post and admired the lovely

once my uncle told me when he was in Aust. He had a Korean family next door. And you know they dont stay up too late , so my uncle's wife turned on the washing machine at 7 Pm , the police came half hour later telling them that those Korean are upset and can not sleep because you are washing lol
They never washed during night since that day.

My neighbours are my family so there is no much to say.
